When do you consider a book you're reading as being finished? So many books have extras at the end - study guides, interviews with the author, endnotes/references, etc. I usually read the author bio and acknowledgements, and if there are endnotes/references with anything more than a source attribution or citation. I won't do much more than skim other things. So have I really finished reading a book if I haven't read all of this extra stuff?
Thoughts?

Christmas in July?
While waiting for the South Shore train this morning on my way to work, there was a piece of wrapping paper tumbling around the parking lot. What really made it stand out was the fact that it was Christmas paper - a snowman motif on a blue background. Trash around that station isn't unusual, but I had to wonder where this scrap came from - someone cleaning out their car or home? My car is usually messy, but even I don't have used Christmas wrap rattling around in it. Was it from a recent gift, given to a kid who really likes snowmen? I'll never know, but I did pick it up and stuff it into my backpack.

Back Again
I've decided to finally keep this blog and update it. Stay tuned for non-rabbit related writing, and hopefully people will enjoy what I put here as much as on the "Happy Feet" blog.
